About Göttingen

Göttingen is basically a city of education and research. 44 Nobel Prize winner are from Göttingen or worked here. As early as 1737 the university was founded and ever since left her marks behind in the historical townscape.

On the other side Göttingen is also well known for its cultural program. Namely the Händelfestspiele in spring, the Gänselieselfest in summer, the jazzfestival in november or our arcadian Christmas market in december.

Even though you have no program at all, Göttingen is always worth a journey.
